Okay Ladies,

I haveta throw this one out there. Some of the lotions we use are kinda strong smelling and do not taste too good. So what do you do before heading out on that special date or romantic evening?? I usually shower and switch to a non-acidic cream like eucerin. This sometimes causes my skin to get imbalanced. If I am using the eucerin more often than usual, then my skin starts getting scaly again. Eucerin is hypoallergenic and very mild and does not have any odor to it. Does anyone else have any suggestion? I figured you married and attached ladies can really help me out on this one. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated

Nikkster,

I certainly have spent A LOT of time over the years trying to get my skin at its best before a 'hot date' (and I still have those with Chris! ). But, I must admit, I never thought to use a non-acidic cream for the benefit of the guy. I need my AHA creams to keep my skin at it's best. So, I just continued to slather on my usual creams.

What I would do is spend some extra time picking out perfume, though. I really like body sprays...Chanel does one that's my favorite. Goes on lighter than perfume, has a slightly oily consistency to it so it actually adds to the moisture in my skin, and is easy to spread around my whole bod.

I never had any of my boyfriends complain about the smell or taste of my AHA creams. I just asked Chris about it point blank, and he says it's never bothered him. And we've certainly had our share of 'intimate moments' when I'm straight out of the shower and freshly creamed, so the cream on my skin would be at its stinkiest and strongest.

Don't think that's at all what you expected to hear, and not sure you'll consider that very helpful, but FWIW that's been my experience.

Laura

(I've done some 'taste tests' myself though, and it does seem like it would be a turn off. Maybe the goofy guys are just so worked up, they don't notice But I've never had one complain, and I've never gone out of my way to spare the AHAs)

I have been off the dating circuit for a while to, since I have had the same boyfriend for ten years now.
We still have our hot dates though, don't get me wrong, so I am pretty much down to a routine on that.
I have been sticking to the Freeman's lotion that we all talked about before, and I am having even better luck with their Apricot and Vitamin E lotion, and the smell is wonderful. Since I am using a fruity lotion, I went with a fruity body spray instead of my traditional perfume. I have been using Bath and Body's Wild Tangerine body spray to go with the apricot lotion and it seems to be working out quite well.
Sean seems to like the fruit smell even more than a perfume, and (like Laura mentioned) body sprays seem to work with my skin better than a regular perfume.

Im new to this board so excuse if I dont get it right off. I also use a lotion that is very acidic and my boyfriend hates the taste of it and I dont blame him it is pretty bad. But it isnt bad enough I guess to make him less interested though. It really doesnt matter because I need to use it.

Heheheh...I am female, 18, some of you may remember me. Anyhow, I had my first boyfriend not so long ago, sadly we aren't together anymore, but when i was with him, it was very funny dealing with the "oily situations"!

I am currently using liquid parraffin/glycerine and when we used to kiss, he would get very oily, my mum once asked what Ben puts on his face! I quickly said, "maybe he uses lip balm" teeheheh! Also, he is a fan of heavy metal music, and consequently wore a black tshirt almost every day. I couldnt hug him without it being obvious!

He did not seem to mind that much, he had quite a good time giving me massages with my ointment though, but it did not do too much for his clothes.

Anyhow, i dont think I have provided any answers for you, just a bit of humour=)
this BBS rocks too...

Ladies, I just discovered this website today. Reading what everyone had to say made me smile. I have to use Lac Hydrin & John said once it was sour. I try to remember it's sour, but he really doesn't seem to care when I forget. Bottom line is, do what you have to do to be comfortable because if you're not he won't be. AND if you're important to him a little sour and flakes aren't that important - at least to him!

Ok, I gotta put my two cents in on this one! I use baby oil and generic petroleum jelly on my skin (I have Lamellar - 100% everywhere). I can't use any of the acid based stuffed as the pain is just way too intense for me. But anyway, since I can't go without my "goo" as I call it, when I know in advance that I'm going to have a hot date with the hubby, I put almond oil instead of baby oil in my bath water. My husband loves the way it smells. Then again, he laughs and says that after being together for almost 6 years, the smell of baby oil never makes him think of babies anymore, it makes him think of me
