Hi

I'm a belgian audiologist. I have a little patient with Ichthyosis. I know some of Ichtiosis patients have a hearing loss and a part due to slimes in the earcanal...
my patient can't wear bone conductive hearing aids such as bone conduction glasses, BAHA, ...
because it just isn't enough amplification
but his air condictive hearing aids wissle due to the slimes
It's better but not really good
a Coclear implant would be to bad as he has enough hearing possibilities...
I was wondering if somebody knew a possible sollution.

Kind regards
Tom Aerts

is the problem for his hearing just the build up of extra skin in his ear. i have to clean my ears out very often with a pair of tweezers to remove the build up of skin.also if the problem is skin build up there is a ear treament called debrox that sotens up the skin foe easy removal. i have no idea if this is the problem but i hope this has helped some how
