Hey Aquaphor Users! My son and I have EHK and love the effects of Aquaphor ointment on our skin. For those of you who haven't tried Aquaphor it's made by the people who make Eucerin but it's a clear ointment and doesn't leave a white residue on your skin. As other users may know, Aquaphor costs nearly $20.00 a lb. container. After much searching, I found a generic Aquaphor at CVS Pharmacy. It's called "CVS Hydrating Original Ointment". It works the same but is half the price. The biggest deal is to catch their "buy one get one free" or "buy one get one for a penny sales" - must have their "ExtraCare" card for sales. I haven't checked their website for the ability to order this product for those who don't live near a CVS Pharmacy. Hope this has helped others. PS- Aquaphor works really well for babies. Have a great day! IP: Logged |

That's interesting-- i love aquaphor. I used to hate it, because i didn't like the smell, but it really helps when I scratch too much. Thanks for the advice! IP: Logged |

Since Aquaphor is fragrance free I guess it does have a slight petroleum scent to it. I like to use a scented lotion first then apply the Aquaphor. I guess one could add some sort of fragrance to it, but I'm leery of that since I have found that certain detergents and fabric softeners break me out with circular spots of ichthyosis on my "normal" skin. Blah! :0 Lisa IP: Logged |
