Dear Erik I suggest that you contact F.I.R.S.T. The Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types. They should be able to give you names of doctors working in your area. F.I.R.S.T. From what you are writing I am guessing that you do not know exactly what type of Ichthyosis you have (and treatment to some degree depends on the type). Best way to find out is to have your doctor do a biopsy and/or a clinical screening. For a biopsy he will take a small piece of skin and analyze it. What also might be interesting for you is to contact the National Registry for Ichthyosis and related Disorders http://depts.washington.edu/ichreg/ichthyosis.registry/ I do not have much experience with the Registry as I am not living in the US but other members of the Board might be able to give you more information. The FIRST-staff is always very helpful and they have a bunch of information for you that might help you. Hope this helps - best wishes, IP: Logged |

I think Merritt Andrews lives in or near Orlando. She might know a good one. Maybe first can give you her contact info. Keith. IP: Logged |
